1. Who we are

Free QR Pro is an independent tool site, operated privately and funded by advertising. It is hosted in France by LWS (Ligne Web Services). For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights described below, write to contact@free-qr-pro.com — that address reaches the operator directly.

Because every code is generated and every image decoded inside your own browser, we hold no account, no profile and no database of visitors from which you could be identified.

2. The short version

The QR and barcode tools run entirely in your browser. The content you type, the images you scan, and your camera frames are never sent to us — there is no server-side processing of them at all. What this policy mostly covers is the small amount of data involved in hosting the site, optional analytics, and optional advertising, each described below.

3. What we process, why, and on what legal basis

Tool usage (QR/barcode content, scanned images, camera): processed only on your device, never transmitted or stored by us. No legal basis is needed because no personal data reaches us.

Server logs: our hosting provider records standard access logs (IP address, requested URL, browser type, timestamp) when pages and files are served. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating and securing the website. Logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period and are not used for profiling.

Analytics (Google Analytics): loaded only after you enable the Analytics category in the cookie banner. Collects anonymous usage statistics (pages visited, device and browser type, approximate region). Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Advertising (Google AdSense): ads are loaded only after you enable the Marketing category. Google, as our advertising partner, may process your IP address and set or read cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have consented. Google may also use its own identifiers and, with consent, data from your Google account. You can review Google's practices at Google’s partner-sites policy and control personalisation at your Google ad settings. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), withdrawable at any time.

4. Cookies and stored preferences

qf_cookie_consent — records your cookie choices. Strictly necessary; expires after 365 days.
Language choice (qf_lang) — stored in your browser's localStorage; functional; kept until you clear it.
Google Analytics cookies (_ga and related) — set only with Analytics consent; pinned to www.free-qr-pro.com; lifetimes per Google's documentation, up to 2 years.
Google AdSense cookies — including the DoubleClick/IDE cookie and Google's ad identifiers, set only with Marketing consent.

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time via Cookie settings, or by deleting cookies in your browser.

5. Recipients and third parties

LWS (hosting, France/EU) — serves the website and stores access logs as our processor.
Google Ireland Ltd (Google Analytics) — analytics, only with your consent. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Google (AdSense) — ad delivery and measurement, only with your consent; may involve transfers outside the EEA under Google's standard contractual clauses.
All fonts and images (including the language-selector flags) are hosted by us — no font or image CDN receives your visits.

6. International transfers

Where a listed provider processes data outside your jurisdiction, transfers rely on adequacy decisions, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or standard contractual clauses, as applicable to that provider.

7. Retention

We keep no databases of visitor data ourselves. The consent cookie lasts 365 days; analytics data is retained per the Google Analytics settings (14 months); hosting logs are rotated by the hosting provider on its standard schedule; emails are kept as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data concerning you; object to processing based on legitimate interest; request restriction or portability; and withdraw any consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Write to contact@free-qr-pro.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection supervisory authority in the country where you live.

9. Children

The website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; changes take effect when posted here with a new date. Material changes to consent-based processing will re-trigger the consent banner.
